Our Start to Finish, Engineering to Fabrication Process

If you come to us with an idea that needs engineering advisement and fabrication, we will follow the process outlined below.

The Design Phase

The First step of the process revolves around the design of the assembly. If a design is supplied, we will skip to the next step. If no design is supplied, we will start by discussing design intent and requirements. From here we will start working with you to come up with a design that will meet your needs. The design will then be 3D modeled so you can see the end product before any material is even cut.

The Analysis Phase

If requested, we will then move on to proving out the design. This involves running engineering calculations and Analysis models. This ensures a proper Factor of Safety on the Fabricated product.

The Fabrication Phase

Next, we will procure the necessary materials and start fabricating the product. If any special processes are required such as CNC Cutting, Bending or Machining we will begin those now. In parallel we will start to weld together the design. Either GMAW (otherwise known as MIG welding) or GTAW (otherwise known as TIG welding) will be used depending on the type of product. This phase is usually the longest part of the process as extra care is taken to ensure the end product is within specified tolerances.

At this point, fabrication is complete and the product has been either Painted or Powder Coated. The fabricated product can either be picked up or delivered for an extra fee. Refer to the Powder Coating page for further details about the process.
